Bryan Eastman

Commissioner Bryan Eastman is in his first term on the Gainesville City Commission with a term ending in 2027. He has spent his career in social services and communications, starting multiple businesses, and managing numerous advocacy initiatives.

Born in Tallahassee with a degree from the University of Central Florida, Bryan spent much of his career in workforce development as statewide program manager of Startup Quest, an entrepreneurship training program in nine cities across Florida. He has also served as Vice-Chair for the Alachua County Coalition for the Homeless and Hungry, on The Gainesville Sun Reader Advisory Board, as Public Policy Chair for Alachua County Emerging Leaders, a UF Strategic Plan Steering Committee Member and as a member of the Gainesville Charter Review Commission.

Bryan has started multiple businesses and worked on numerous advocacy and political initiatives, including the Half-Cent for Schools, Local Charter Amendments and the No GRU Authority Referendum. He is currently the owner of PoliEngine, a website builder for advocacy initiatives and political candidates.

Bryan is married to Nina Bhattacharyya, and they are raising their daughter in the Oakview neighborhood. In his spare time, he plays music: the mandolin, guitar, and bass; birding at some of Gainesville’s amazing trails; and enjoys riding his bike around town.
