As part of the City of Gainesville’s gun violence prevention initiative, this program is designed to support community-led summer events and activities that provide fun, safe, and engaging opportunities for children, youth and families during the summer months, when we know violence increases. The goal is to engage young people who may not be enrolled in summer camps or other formal activities and to support positive connections among community members in areas disproportionately impacted by violence. This program is also an opportunity to share safety information and resources from IMPACT GNV with community members.
Events that are supported through the Summer Pop Out Fund should take place from June-August, 2026. The deadline to submit an event is Friday, July 17 at 5 p.m. EDT.
Selected applicants can receive up to $1,000 in support through direct purchasing by Impact GNV.
This means we will work with you to buy the supplies, food, equipment, or services needed to bring your event to life. No cash payments, or payments directly to you or your organization, and no turning in receipts. We take care of the work for you.
No, IMPACT GNV will not be involved in event planning. However, we are happy to provide insight, advice and ideas if needed once your application is approved.
While we encourage small-scale neighborhood level events, please be advised that any event with more than 50 people may require a Special Events Permit, which may take time to approve. Please visit City of Gainesville special events permitting for more information. IMPACT GNV is not involved in the permitting process.

IMPACT GNV encourages applicants to continue the momentum. While this program is supporting events throughout the summer we encourage you to consider what lasting impact you’d like to make and how you will carry this on. Building community takes everyone and we are happy to be part of the work happening in Gainesville.
