Community Safety Day

The event will include a crisis intervention and de-escalation training led by the Alachua County Crisis Center, focusing on crisis identification, intervention principles and de-escalation techniques. Participants will then engage in a hands-on session conducted by UF Health to learn essential techniques for controlling life-threatening bleeding. Lastly, Gainesville Fire Rescue will cover opioid overdose recognition and the proper administration of Narcan to reverse overdose.

  • 9-9:15 a.m.: Welcome and Intros
  • 9:15-11:15 a.m.: Crisis Intervention and De-Escalation Training
  • 11:15 a.m. -12 p.m.: Lunch (Provided)
  • 12-12:45 p.m.: STOP THE BLEED Training
  • 1-1:30 p.m.: Narcan Training
