Join us for a groundbreaking of the Southwest Public Safety Center, a new facility being built near Archer Road and I-75. The center will house the soon-to-be-relocated Gainesville Fire Rescue (GFR) Station #9, which has been in a modular building since 2017. The new 33,000 square-foot fire station will have four bays.

In addition to Fire Station #9, the Southwest Public Safety Center will have a community room and a space for supplies and materials used by the Public Works Department. The Southwest Public Safety Center will serve southwest Gainesville with increased efficiency and emergency response readiness.
