Join us as we observe the 23rd anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks with a ceremony in remembrance of those who lost their lives as a result of the acts of terror on Sept. 11, 2001.
On this National Day of Service and Remembrance, members of the faith community will lead blessings for the departed. City leaders will ask all neighbors to honor the victims of the attacks by observing the day with acts of kindness, generosity and service.
A moment of silence is scheduled at 8:46 a.m. (EDT), the moment when the first airplane struck the World Trade Center in New York City. In unity with ceremonies across the nation, they ask houses of worship to toll their bells at that time.
When: Mon., Sept. 11 from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Where: City Hall Plaza, 200 E. University Ave.
The ceremony is free and open to the public.
