Neighborhood Zone Permits
Applications for permits for the 2026-2027 program year will be accepted beginning July 1, 2026. Prices are not prorated and are nonrefundable. All sales are final. Please note: The permit program year runs from Aug. 1 to July 31. Please allow up to two weeks for review of your application. How to Apply
Residential Permits
Residential permits are virtual and based on your license plate. You will not receive a physical permit if approved.
- You must be a resident in the program area and live in an eligible property. View the program areas on the map and check the list of ineligible properties below.
- You must not have any unpaid parking citations. Check your parking citation status.
- Choose the parking permit that's right for you: Residential, UF Greek/Infinity Hall or Residential Homestead. View information about each type of permit and the required documents at this link(PDF, 541KB) or below.
- You must provide copies of all required documentation in only the following file formats: .jpg, .tiff, .bmp, .png, or .pdf. All other file formats are not accepted. Check the list of required documents by permit type(PDF, 541KB).
Submittal of altered or false information will result in application denial and revocation of rights for future permit applications.

Other Permits
Visitor, Commercial and Service permits are available for purchase in person at City Hall - Revenue & Receivables Office (200 E University Avenue, 3rd Floor, Gainesville, FL, 32601), Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 3:30pm. No appointment is necessary. Check the requirements below.

What zone am I in?
View the interactive map to identify which Permit Zone your residence is in. On the interactive map page, enter your address in the “find address” bar. If your address is not in one of the Permit Zones, you are not eligible to apply for a neighborhood permit.
Change of vehicle or license plate number for current permit
If your vehicle and/or license plate number changes, you must update your parking permit to reflect those changes. You will need a copy of the current vehicle registration when you submit your changes.
