Cultural Program and Community Event Grants

Gainesville City Lights

The City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department (PRCA) administers approximately $300,000 in grants to non-profit organizations for cultural programs and community events. The city has traditionally supported the arts through grants for cultural programs, support services and facilities. PRCA, along with the Gainesville Cultural Affairs Board, has pledged its resources toward making the arts and culture accessible to all neighbors, including historically marginalized populations and those with special needs.

All agencies or individuals requesting funding for cultural activities and community events will be referred to PRCA for evaluation under the appropriate grant category before the Gainesville City Commission will consider their request.
