Hybrid public meeting to discuss proposed lane repurposing of State Road 20 (NW 8th Avenue) between NW 6th Street and N Main Street in Gainesville, FL.
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and City of Gainesville proposes to eliminate a single eastbound and westbound lane of NW 8th Avenue and add a 7-foot buffered bicycle lane in both directions throughout the project limits.
The hybrid meeting will be held May 2, 2023, at the Thomas Center, Building A, 302 NE 6th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601 with an informal open house from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a formal presentation beginning at 6 p.m. Citizens may also participate online at nflroads.com/VPH or by phone (415) 655-0060 access code: 470-896-211. Both virtual and in-person participants will be given equal opportunity to ask questions and make oral statements that will become part of the public hearing record. Persons who wish to submit written statements or other exhibits may do so prior to or during the hearing in the comments section at nflroads.com/VPH.
