City of Gainesville awarded NEA grant for Plays in the Park

The City of Gainesville has been awarded a $19,000 Grants for Arts Projects from the National Endowment for the Arts to support Plays in the Park: The American Story.

Cold Night Shelter Program available Jan. 15-19

City of Gainesville officials anticipate severe weather conditions, including temperatures below 45 degrees Fahrenheit, during the evening hours of Thursday, Jan. 15-Monday, Jan. 19. The anticipated temperatures will lead to the activation of the city's Cold Night Shelter (CNS) Program, and it is expected to remain in effect until overnight low temperatures rise above 45 F.

City closed Jan. 19 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Choice Neighborhood Initiative

In September 2023, the City of Gainesville and the Gainesville Housing Authority (GHA) were awarded a $500,000 Choice Neighborhoods Planning Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This grant will be used to create a plan to redevelop and revitalize neighborhoods in east Gainesville.

Downtown Winter Market Series
