City of Gainesville and Alachua County to observe September 11th

The City of Gainesville and Alachua County are observing the anniversary of the September 11th attacks with the annual stair climb and a ceremony in remembrance of those who lost their lives as a result of the acts of terror on September 11, 2001.

When: 8:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 11

Where: Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on the University of Florida campus

On this National Day of Service and Remembrance, community leaders ask that our residents honor the victims of the attacks by observing the day with acts of kindness, generosity and service.

The event is free and open to the public. Seating will be available in the south end zone of the stadium. Members of the public also are invited to participate in the stair climb, marking the 110 stories of the World Trade Center.
