Community celebrates cultural diversity at Welcoming Week events

City of Gainesville, Alachua County and community leaders invite area neighbors to celebrate Gainesville’s diverse community and international connections during the Greater Gainesville International Festival and Longest Table.

When: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18

Where: Martin Luther King, Jr. Multipurpose Center, 1028 NE 14th St.

The festival features performances and presentations, as well as the opportunity for attendees to obtain a community identification (local picture ID) at the event.

The events are free and open to the public but advance registration for the Longest Table, a free community dinner and dialogue, is required. Registration is open until 12 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16 through Eventbrite. For more information, visit welcomingweek2022.rwhp.org.
