PRCA community workshops

Neighbors are invited to attend an upcoming community workshop to help shape the future of the City of Gainesville’s parks, and recreation and cultural services.

The workshops are designed to gather input from neighbors and identify the needs and priorities of the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department (PRCA) for the next 5-10 years.

These are the dates, times and locations of the workshops:

  • Thursday, Jan. 5 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Duval Early Learning Academy cafeteria, 2106 NE Eighth Ave.
  • Monday, Jan. 9 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Senior Recreation Center, 5701 NW 34th Blvd.
  • Tuesday, Jan. 10 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at A. Quinn Jones School, 1108 NW Seventh Ave.

The feedback will be used in the update of the department’s Vision 2020 Master Plan. The department’s needs assessment update also includes a survey that has been mailed to randomly selected households in Gainesville. An online version of the survey will be available soon in both English and Spanish.

For additional information about the needs assessment, please contact PRCA Assistant Director Leslie Ladendorf at ladendorfll@GainesvilleFL.gov or 352-393-8340.
