Registration opens for City of Gainesville holiday parade entries

Registration has opened for participation in the City of Gainesville’s 2023 A Very GNV Holiday Parade, to be held Saturday, Dec. 2.

The registration form, parade rules and additional details are available online. Registration packets also may be picked up at City Hall (200 E. University Ave.) or the Historic Thomas Center (302 NE Sixth St.) beginning tomorrow, Sept. 27. Entry forms must be submitted by 10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13.

The parade is scheduled to begin at noon and cover a one-mile stretch of East University Avenue. The event launches the city’s holiday festivities on Dec. 2 that include afternoon activities at Bo Diddley Plaza followed by the annual Holiday Lights Celebration in the Thomas Center Gardens.
