Residential Parking Permits Available for Purchase Online July 15

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The City of Gainesville’s division of Billing & Collection, is notifying residents that residential neighborhood parking permits will be available for purchase online beginning Friday, July 15. Residents in the City’s Controlled Vehicular Parking Zones will be able to purchase permits online by visiting the City of Gainesville website and clicking on the “Online Services & Payments” tab and navigating to the "Purchase a Parking Permit" link.

Students living in sorority and fraternity houses associated with the University of Florida may also purchase residential permits online, provided the official member lists are submitted from the University of Florida to the City of Gainesville.

Permit costs are as follows:

Homestead: $108.00 for one year or $324.00 for three years

Non-Homestead, Renter or UF Greek: $216.00 for one year

Fraternity/Sorority Meal Plan: $121.50

Visitor, Commercial and Service placards are also available for purchase. More information may be found online at www.gainesvillefl.gov.

A map of the parking zones can be viewed online at https://gvilleparking.com/neighborhood-permits/. Please note that parking zones are changing.

Residents should note that the grace period for 2022 begins Friday, July 15 and ends Wednesday, August 31. Residents should make their purchase at least one week before the permit grace period ends or before their current permit expires to allow for processing.

Residents are responsible for ensuring that their vehicle(s) have a valid permit before the end of the grace period. Parking citations will be issued after the grace period to vehicles lacking the necessary permit. Parking enforcement remains in effect for all other city parking rules and regulations during the annual grace period.

Parking permits rates are subject to change after September 30, 2022. Residents with questions are asked to please call the parking permit office at 352-334-5025, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
