Gainesville to unveil new GFR fire engine Published on August 21, 2026 Neighbors are invited to attend a dedication ceremony August 27 at GFR Station 4 for the city’s newest fire engine. It replaces the station’s current fire truck which has averaged more than 2,300 response calls annually over five years. Stormwater, solid waste charges moving to annual property tax bills Published on August 18, 2026 Property owners within Gainesville city limits will notice an important change when Truth in Millage (TRIM) notices arrive in mailboxes this month. Beginning Oct. 1, charges for city stormwater and residential solid waste services will appear as non-ad valorem assessments on annual property tax bills. Gainesville breaks ground on new Fire Station #3 Published on July 22, 2026 The 16,773-sq.ft. facility is being built near the corner of NE Eighth Ave. and Waldo Rd, just west of the existing station.
