Habitat Restoration in Progress

Restoration activities on the north end of the park are ongoing.  The City of Gainesville is working to manage this natural area for the benefit of native plants and animals.  Restoration can involve mechanically altering dense vegetation to allow for prescribed fire to be returned to the area.  If you'd like to learn more about prescribed fire please visit whyprescribedfire.org
