Pioneer America – Home is Where the Heart Is

Home Is Where the Heart Is

Kirsten, a Swedish immigrant, adjusts to her new life on the American frontier in 1854.

The play will be in conjunction with Morningside’s Living History Saturday program. Visitors can see weaving, a blacksmithing demonstration, tour the historic log cabin tour, and hear live banjo and fiddle music. The event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the play on the log cabin porch at 10 a.m.!

This event is part of Plays in the Park: The American Story where we celebrate America250 with live performances and hands-on activities.

Brought to you by the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs in partnership with the Star Center Theatre. This project is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
