City of Gainesville secures $10.2 million federal transit grant Published on March 17, 2026 The City of Gainesville’s Regional Transit System (RTS) has been awarded a federal grant totaling $10,263,750 to fund construction of a new Westside Bus Transfer Station and Park-and-Ride facility, ADA accessibility upgrades to bus stops and the replacement of aging paratransit vehicles. RTS Fall Service, new text-based tracker and GatorAider agreement Published on August 14, 2025 UF has agreed to restore funding to a pair of heavily-traveled routes, Routes 5 and 8. Now, with the new “Find My Bus” tool, users can text their bus stop ID to 844-899-1556 to receive arrival predictions.
