Bivens Arm Nature Park will be closing July 6, 2026 as we begin an exciting restoration project. The marsh will undergo an important habitat restoration and our boardwalks will be replaced to enhance your future visits. We anticipate reopening in April 2027, better than ever!Thank you for your patience while we work to make the park an even more refreshing natural space for everyone.
Bivens Arm Nature Park, one of Gainesville’s oldest nature parks, features nearly 2 miles of scenic hiking trails. These shady trails border basin marshes and wind through a mesic hammock under shady live oaks and towering pines. The park features an observation pavilion with built-in seating overlooking a marsh. The forests and wetlands provide an important buffer between urban Gainesville and the extensive natural areas of Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park.
