Development Review

The review processes for development plans, subdivisions, special use permits, planned developments and variances begins with a First Step Meeting. After attending a First Step Meeting, some developments may be required to hold a neighborhood workshop. Most developments require a development plan approval BEFORE applying for building permits. Development plans are either reviewed by the Development Review Board in a public hearing or approved by staff, depending on the size and nature of the development.

For technical information related to engineering, solid waste, right-of-way or other requirements for development review, please reference the Engineering Design & Construction Manual(PDF, 3MB). Please also reference the Right-of-Way Permitting page for more information.
