Depot Park, located in downtown Gainesville, provides a variety of outdoor activities and is the most visited and most visible public space in Gainesville. Visit the Blue Grotto splash pad, picnic in the pavilion, or take a walk around the water’s edge on our promenade. You may also choose to follow the path through the conservation area or just relax in our open green space.

Hogtown Creek Headwaters Nature Park & Nature Center

From former pinelands and majestic, upland mixed forest to shady fern-covered wetlands where water slowly seeps from the ground to form the beginnings of Hogtown Creek, this 82-acre park protects a variety of natural habitats.

Morningside Nature Center

3540 E University Ave, Gainesville 32641

Morningside Nature Center features a wide array of woods and wildlife. More than six miles of trails lead you through flatwoods, sandhills, and cypress domes. Be inspired by fields of brightly colored wildflowers. Visit the Timucua Chikee Hut and the Living History Farm that highlights farm life in the 1800s. Visit the Education Building and explore the numerous nature programs that are available.
